一位網友在臉書社團「家常菜」發文分享，表示「我很喜歡吃我家附近一家海產店的白飯，真想知道他們是怎麼煮的」。貼文還附上店家白飯的照片，照片中可看到白飯形狀完整、粒粒分明，飯粒上還非常有光澤。

貼文一出，馬上有網友分享，跟「米的品質」和「用什麼鍋子煮」有關，「米很重要，好吃的品質怎麼煮都好吃」、「我都選花東一級米」、「一等米用炊飯鍋，就很好吃，現在吃外面的米飯，很少覺得很好吃的」、「外面店家的電鍋都是用瓦斯煮的！均勻受熱，不會濕濕的！和一般電鍋煮的是不同的」、「俗話說大鍋飯、小鍋菜，飯要煮大鍋才好吃，菜要小鍋炒才香，一般家庭小鍋飯是煮不出來的」。

也有網友說可能是店家有「加料」煮，大家也紛紛分享煮飯小撇步，可加入油、鹽、醋、檸檬汁、糯米提升口感，「看起來有加油」、「加油再加一些鹽，或加油加一些檸檬汁」、「加一些糯米，然後加油加鹽一起煮」、「加油添醋」、「我以前做過的自助餐是米：糯米=10：1，再加油跟醋」。
