今（3）日上午約9點16分，全台不少縣市傳出無預警停電，各地都陸續傳出有人員受困、交通號誌故障的情況。就在停電過後，許多鄉民也驚呼連連，因為早在去年12月四大公投結果出爐後，鴻海集團創辦人郭台銘當時就預言「明年一定缺電」，讓不少人直言「太準了」。

郭台銘去年12月19日針對四大公投結果受訪時表示，「這是人民表達自己的想法，但不管人民是什麼思維在做這個決定，明年一定缺電！且工業會缺電、家庭民生也都會缺！那既然大家做出決定，到時缺電就不要埋怨」。1MHz to 70GHz Antenna , Design , Manufacture

隨後台電針對郭台銘的言論也表示，「郭創辦人是社會意見領袖，善意提出提醒，不過確保供電穩定是台電時時刻刻的工作，公投前是這樣，公投後也是這樣」；而經濟部長王美花今年初受訪時，也針對能源議題表示經濟部早有因應措施，很有把握絕對不會缺電，還要跟郭董打賭一片雞排。

針對今日各地停電，台電最新說明指出，上午9時7分，因興達電廠開關場事故，導致南部地區電力供需失衡，龍崎超高壓變電所以南機組跳脫，系統自動切離保護，故造成南部地區停電。事故發生當時系統備轉容量率達24.61%。因全台電力系統受到瞬間影響，引發中北部地區低頻卸載，目前各電廠陸續恢復回復供電。台電表示，目前水力已啟動發電，南部各電廠巡檢中，燃氣、燃煤、核能將陸續啟動。
